We're thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Cape Town Raspberry Jam/Makeathon/Hackfest!! The #CapeJam is an open event for makers and hackers of all ages to get together and create anything and everying awesome using Raspberry Pi's, Arduinos and other microcontrollers.  Participants can bring their own projects and hardware, or just drop in and see what others are working on! We'll bring extra RPis, monitors, peripherals and sensors.  It's Raspberry Pi's Big Birthday Weekend - so there will be similar events being held all around the world! Tinkerers, journalists, designers, activists, and data junkies are all welcome.  We strongly encourage projects that aim to solve real-world challenges in Cape Town.  We will have a training space for those who want to dabble with scratch and/or sensors, and at the end of the day we'll raffle off some prizes! Last year the event was held in CBD at 75 Harrington Street (https://www.instagram.com/p/Bf8FtbTHskS/), and this year will be even bigger and better in Harare Square, Khayelitsha. VPUU (http://vpuu.org.za) will graciously be providing a central and secure venue, and we're currently searching for sponsors for prizes and catering.   Pop in for an hour, or the whole day! Cape Town, 30th January 2019, 17.30 to 19.00.  This is a free but intense workshop for all startups, innovators, entrepreneurs and SMEs in Cape Town. It is a 1 hour very interactive and practical session where you will leave with useful tools and ideas for you to use immediately to generate leads for your business or business idea based on what we learned from observing and supporting SMEs in over 83 countries. Please note that the doors will be closed at 17.45 sharp so that we can start on time out of respect to the others. Daniel Popper is a multi disciplinary artist who’s unafraid of a challenge or the seemingly impossible. BABYLON Early AccessFor those who want a chance to get in early, pick the best camping spot and get set up before the official start on Friday, we are offering early access tickets this year. This will give access to the site from 12 midday on Thursday 14th of February.
