See wildlife in the Buffelsfontein Private Game Reserve, an hour's drive north of Cape Town, on a full-day, small group biking safari. The guided cycle incorporates an armed ranger and back-up vehicle as you search for buffalo, giraffe, oryx, eland, wildebeest, zebra, rhino, leopard and lion within the six square mile private reserve.

After a trip briefing at the historic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, you will leave Cape Town around 8am and make your way north along the West Coast. In the shuttle, you'll pass quaint fishing villages, windswept beaches, and rugged Atlantic Ocean shoreline ' experiencing a region that still retains an off-the-beaten-track feel ' en route to the private Bufflesfontien Game Reserve, about an hour's drive north.

'There, you will be met by a professional wildlife expert who will share information about the various fauna and flora in the reserve. Then you'll hop on your bike and head into the reserve. You may get up close to a variety of antelope and plains game, including zebra, giraffe, oryx, wildebeest, kudu, eland, and springbok. You can visit cheetah and lion enclosures to marvel at these mighty cats. The bicycle group will be accompanied by an armed ranger and back-up vehicle for your safety. Not only does cycling ensure a more intimate experience, it allows you to get closer to nature ' to see animal tracks in the sand and savor the sounds and smells of the bush from ground level ' and makes for amazing wildlife viewing.

After your guided cycle, you'll return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and detailed explanation of all the plants and animals you have been privileged to witness from the saddle. You will then make your way out of Buffelsfontein and back to Cape Town, returning around 4pm.
