This cycle tour is designed to give participants to take the opportunity to do a ride of stunning scenic beauty around the Cape coastline. The vehicle has a capacity of 7 passengers and has a trailer for the bicycles and equipment. The route is designed to be not too challenging and the cyclists will have the prevailing winds at their backs on this route. The vehicle accompanies the group throughout the ride.
Non cyclists are welcome to join as passengers and time permitting visit a winery or two before returning to Cape Town.
The route commences in Caledon and traverses Shaw's Pass into Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. It follows this wine region to the coastal road in Hermanus. Here cyclists are offered the option of skipping a busy section of road to Bot River. From Bot River the route is on the stunningly scenic Clarence Drive through Kleinmond, Betty's Bay (optional stop at the famous penguin colony), Rooiels and end at Gordon's Bay.
Pack ice and cooler boxes for beverages. Along the way there are multiple potential drink stops.
