2 Day Glamping And South African Wildlife Safari From Cape Town


Get close to South Africa's wildlife with this overnight safari adventure trip from Cape Town. Overnight at 4-star Buffelsdrift Game Lodge, resting at the foothills of the majestic Swartberg mountains in one of their secluded, free-standing luxury tents ' overlooking a nearby waterhole. Day 1: Cape Town - Oudtshoorn'
Leave Cape Town early in the morning for the scenic journey to Oudtshoorn, in the semi-desert Klein Karoo region. The drive takes you along Cape Route 62, famous for its beautiful scenery and longest wine route in the world.

Arriving in Oudtshoorn, visit a working ostrich farm to learn more about these fascinating flightless birds.
Your evening is spent at leisure back in Oudtshoorn, so either relax at your accommodation or head into town to discover the nightlife or local restaurants on your own. Your guide will be able to recommend the best restaurants.

Glamping deluxe ' Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is an unexpected oasis that wows from the first glimpse. In the heart of the Klein Karoo, luxe canvas tents are decked out with all the creature comforts including a beautiful claw-footed bath, rustic outdoor shower and the most inviting king-sized bed. Wooden balconies overlook the dam where hippos wallow languidly in the glassy water. On the horizon line, giraffes snack on the tops of tall trees as the sun dips below the horizon.' Take in the calm veld surrounds by lounging at the pool deck amongst giant aloe vera, framing your perfect view of birds and game that visit the water's edge at sunset.

Day 2: Oudtshoorn to Cape Town (B)
Wake up early to meet the orphaned African elephants on the nearby private game reserve. Opt to head nose-to-trunk on a morning walk with the world's largest land mammals ' the African elephants ' and to interact in fairly close quarters.' Under the watchful eye of your guide, get up close to these gentle giants. Learn about their background and behaviour as you feed them and see how calm and peaceful they can be (own expense).'

After breakfast, head to the Cango Wildlife Ranch ' a sanctuary that's home to some of the world's most endangered animals and contributes to the conservation of over 60 species. Internationally recognised as the Western Cape's most prestigious zoological park, the ranch is home to big cats, snakes, birds and more.

Travel back toward Cape Town and stop en route to enjoy close encounters with wildlife on a ' 2hour safari game drive at Botlierskop private game reserve. From the safety of an open-top 4x4 vehicle, keep on the lookout for most of the Big Five animals (Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, rare Black Impala) in their natural habitat. The 3500ha private game reserve is located in a malaria-free zone and home to an abundance of other wildlife including giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and more than 200 bird species.

After this safari drive, return to Cape Town the late evening.
